Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has contracted Andritz to supply the complete electro-mechanical equipment and technical services for the Ialy hydropower plant extension project located in Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province, and Chu Pah district, Gia Lai province.
The expansion project is set to increase the total installed capacity of the Ialy hydropower plant by more than 30 % to 1080MW. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
Andritz will supply two 180MW Francis turbine units, two 211 MVA synchronous generators, control and protection systems, as well as additional auxiliary equipment and associated technical services.
The work will be undertaken jointly by an international team from India, Austria, and Germany.
