The group said the rolling weir will be 55m high by 214m long and have a base width of 16.63m. The weir is to be built over 30 months under a contract valued at US$3.12M. The construction work is to be undertaken by the group’s subsidiary Cavico Infrastructure.
Dambri is to be a 75MW plant built is close to Da Huoai village, near Da Teh city in Lam Dong province, about 140km north east of Ho Chi Minh City. The developer is South Hydropower Joint Stock Co and the budget for the entire scheme is US$80M.
Cavico’s earlier contracts on the project were mainly for tunnelling works on the headrace tunnel for lengths of 5km and 3.2km, respectively, and both up to 4.3m wide. The two tunnel contracts were awarded in January and February this year, and their total value is US$30.5M.
In total, Cavico now has five contracts at Dambri worth a total of more than US$37M.
