The total budget for the 108MW hydro project is US$137.5M, and it should be commissioned by late 2009.
To be built near the Nho Que river in Ha Giang province, some 320km north of Hanoi, the project is being developed by Bitexco, a private firm that invest in and owns power and other schemes.
The contractor is 50% owned by Cavico Corp, which is involved in a number of civils contracts for hydro schemes elsewhere in the country as well as starting to take on an owner-developer role itself.
