The dam, costing US$3.7M, will have a reservoir with a storage capacity of 18Mm3, and will be completed in 2004. It will irrigate 3000ha of adjacent farmland in the Cu M’gar district.

The construction of the Buon Joong dam started in the Vietnamese Central Highlands province of Dac Lac in early April, according to the Vietnamese News Agency.
