The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA) is to offer an estimated $12.5 million in grants and loans beginning next week for alternative and renewable energy projects, including hydropower.
In a statement, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett said the funding is an opportunity for companies, municipalities, schools and organizations to deploy alternative energy projects or construct new facilities related to alternative fuels.
Of the $12.5 million estimated funding, $10 has been specifically targeted for projects deploying renewable technologies, notably hydropower, in the US state.
Grant or loan funds will be awarded on a competitive basis. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on August 15th and must be submitted online using the state’s eGrants system – www.grants.dcnr.state.pa.us.
