GMB elektrische Maschinen und Anlagen AG and Kössler GmbH & Co, a Voith Hydro company, have announced they are to colloborate in the field of small hydropower technology in Switzerland.

GMB based in Regensdorf near Zurich specializes in developing and producing customized generators, emergency gen sets, power station services and switchgear, and Kössler has been delivering turbines and power station equipment to Switzerland from as early as 1967.

Under the terms of the collaboration, GMB will contribute to the partnership with its know-how and delivery of special generators, as well as assembly and after-sales service personnel. Kössler, as a member of Voith Hydro, will provide turbines and small hydro equipment.

"Through the partnership with GMB we are able to offer our Swiss customers even better service in terms of project handling, assembly and after-sales service. This is very important for our customers and ensures fast availability and improved safety for the operation of their small hydro power plants," said Josef Lampl, Managing Director of Kössler.

"By joining forces and consequently offering service from one single source we are creating substantial added value for our Swiss customers," added André Leibundgut, CEO of GMB.

The cooperation of GMB and Kössler covers all of Switzerland, with the exception of the Cantons Wallis and Ticino. These two regions are looked after directly by Voith Hydro Milano, with Kössler being responsible for small hydro equipment supply.
