Going forward, the three companies look to jointly establish an operational company and build up a coherent business structure by integrating their various activities in the hydro sector, including marketing, servicing, engineering, development and design. The new company would likely be 50% owned by Hitachi and 50% by the two Mitsubishi companies, with each company’s shareholding ratio to be decided later.

With this initiative, the companies are looking to strengthen the competitiveness of their hydro technologies, especially in the area of variable-speed pumped-storage power generation.
