Hydroelectric exports from Laos dams to the southeast Asian region has been credited, along with a mining boom, for its positive economic performance.
Hydro powers Laos’ entry to World Trade Organisation
Thanks to its hydro power production Laos looks set to join the World Trade Organisation. Financial experts agree that the country is not an obvious choice for investors but Laos is already one of Asia’s fastest growing economies; expanding by 7.9% this year with double digit growth in both exports and imports.
