The works are Stage 2 of the scheme as it has already performed the detailed design works for the utility in the state of Victoria, Australia.
A total of 7MW of installed capacity will be available to the utility from the plants, which it expects to generate approximately 40GWh annually.
The plants are to be built at the following reservoirs – Preston, Olinda, Mt View, Upper Yarra, Notting Hill and Silvan.
Tasmania-based Tyco Tamar is to supply the mechanical, electrical and control equipment for the plants. The civils works are to be done by local firm Geotechnical Engineering.
