HYDROGRID has added 1.2GW of hydropower assets to its portfolio in Latin America over the past six months. The expansion includes new deployments of its digital operations platform, HYDROGRID Insight, in Mexico, Peru, and Brazil.

The company said it is working directly with local operations teams to implement advanced water management strategies, including spillage minimization and predictive production planning. These features are part of HYDROGRID Insight and are intended to improve energy output and reduce resource loss.

HYDROGRID Insight integrates inflow forecasting, real-time dispatch optimization, and automated compliance with environmental and regulatory constraints. The platform is designed to work with both small-scale plants and larger portfolios.

In current Latin American deployments, operators have reported more efficient use of water, better production accuracy, and increased transparency. The system supports both short- and long-term dispatch planning and aims to reduce spillage while optimizing maintenance schedules.

“Latin America is a key hydropower region, with a growing need for solutions that can bring greater efficiency and resilience to water-dependent energy systems,” said Janice Goodenough, CEO. “With HYDROGRID Insight, operators gain a comprehensive digital toolset to manage daily operations, meet environmental and regulatory targets, and improve revenue outcomes.”

The company said its Latin American growth is part of a wider international strategy, with ongoing support for clients in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Deployment of HYDROGRID Insight is being carried out both remotely and through on-site visits.
