Over 100 guests attended the event at Ankara’s Swissotel Hotel on 5 April. Indar’s representative in Turkey, Mahzuni Yasar, opened the event and introduced the speakers. The first speaker was the Minister Yildiz, who mentioned Indar’s notable presence in the country as an exemplary reference in the field of hydropower. He encouraged Indar to continue with their work in favour of a more sustainable Turkey. Spain’s Ambassador in Turkey, Mr Cristobal González-Aller, spoke afterwards to highlight the impetus of commercial bilateral relations between both markets, particularly as Turkey is Spain’s second largest export market outside the European Union.

Next to speak was Peio Pagola, Director of the Hydro Business Unit. He recapped Indar’s background experience in Turkey, from the outset in 2006 to the present day, and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the country.

Finally, Indar’s Sales Director Pedro Garciandia spoke and highlighted the fact that the energy supplied by Indar in Turkey is capable of covering the domestic needs of over 300,000 homes. He thanked the regulatory authorities for their clear commitment to hydropower as a renewable energy as well as the dynamic nature of the Turkish business network.

Other guests at the event included Jon Amutxastegi (Hydro Sales Manager for Turkey), Isaac Martín-Barbero (Trade Commissioner at Spanish Embassy in Ankara), as well as the CEOs of the regulatory body for water licenses and the body for transmitting electricity in Turkey.

The event was attended by Turkey’s major energy investors, including large corporations such as Gama, Sanko, MNG, EnergiSA, Borusan, etc.
