The 0.77MW plant had been out of service for eight years, but is now supplying electricity to the country’s power grid following the US$1M refurbishment project, which was completed last month.

The project is the first renewable project in Jamaica for the Marubeni TAQA Caribbean Power Holdings’ partnership, a majority shareholder of JPS. It was undertaken as a collaborative effort with the National Water Commission, who owns the Long Lane water treatment plant.
