In her new position, Kroen will be responsible for fostering business development and technical excellence throughout the company’s hydropower practice in Northern California. Kroen will also coordinate and fully integrate planning, engineering, construction and technical services to support every stage of the hydropower project lifecycle for URS clients.
The current President of the Northwest Hydroelectric Association (NWHA), Kroen has nearly 30 years of experience in federal and state regulatory permitting and compliance.
Before joining URS, she ran a successful private practice specializing in project management, strategic planning, public involvement, and facilitation support for large, complex water resources projects. Her involvement in statewide projects ranges from the Oroville Facilities FERC relicensing effort to the joint state and federal Salton Sea Restoration project. She developed and co-moderates a workshop on hydropower relicensing and compliance as part of the NWHA annual meeting and co-chairs the Small-Hydro Committee which holds an annual workshop in Bend, Oregon.
“Patti’s knowledge of the hydropower industry together with her leadership and coordination skills will significantly enhance URS’ ability to grow our business in this industry,” said John Bischoff, URS Senior Vice President and Director of Water/Wastewater Business Line.
