US company MCM Enterprise has announced the sale of eleven Hydroscan systems to Public Utility District No.1 of Chelan County for installation at the Rocky Reach power plant. The installation, which began in September 1998,
will be completed by 2001
and is the largest Hydroscan installation at a single power plant.
Hydroscan is a rotor-mounted scanner that provides essential operating and diagnostic information which enables operators continuous observation and assessment of
hydrogenerator conditions while the machines are under operating load.
Chelan County PUD No.1 operates the second largest non-federal publicly owned hydroelectric generating system in the US. The combined generating capacity produces 11B kWh of power annually.
