Indian power company Tata Power has signed an agreement with Clean Energy Invest and IFC InfraVentures for the development of new hydropower projects in Georgia with a total capacity of 400MW.
According to newswire reports, the projects are expected to be developed in three phases. The first phase – with a capacity of 185MW – is expected to come online n 2016.
Power generated from the new schemes is likely to be exported to Turkey.
