AFD helps fund Indian hydro schemes

French development agency AFD is to provide  €80 million to help fund the development of two hydropower projects with a combined capacity of 78MW in Himachal Pradesh, India.

According to local media reports AFD agreed the credit facility for the 30MW Deothal Chanju and 48MW Chanju III hydroelectric projects in the Chanju river basin.

Both projects are being developed by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL).
