Andritz hydro matrix order in the US

The StrafloMatrix units are designed for the development of hydro power at low-head sites with existing dam or gate structures, utilising a factory assembled grid or 'matrix' of small propeller turbine-generator units.

The 16 units will produce a total of 10MW and are scheduled to come online in late 2008. SAF Hydroelectric is majority owned by Brookfield Power, a major producer of hydro power in North America.
