Black & Veatch expands operations in Italy

25 November 2002

The global engineering, construction and consulting firm, which recently moved to larger premises in Rome to accommodate its growing staff and workload, has now opened a new office in Milan to boost its links with the numerous clients and associates in the north of Italy. An established skills base in Italy is also seen by the firm as a potential springboard to a wide range of infrastructure projects in the Balkans.

'Our involvement in the water and energy sectors requires a close linkage between the local legal, financial and engineering aspects,' said black-veatch Italia President, Graham Thompson. 'A sound strategy for investment set against compliance with environmental and commercial law, engineering feasibility and a sound tariff profile is essential for the success and political acceptance of any of the new ventures.'
