Bonner dam removed

23 November 2005

Remediation company Envirocon removed the structure a week ahead of schedule, concluding a US$405,000 project that began work on 17 October 2005.

Removing the 10m high, 64m long Bonner dam coincides with another Envirocon project - demolishing the larger Milltown dam, located on the same river.

In August this year US$100M of finance was agreed to remove the Milltown dam and clear up sediment in Blackfoot and Clark Fork rivers. Plans have called for its removal to start in 2007 and finish by 2010.
