Call for papers - Small Hydro 2009

To be held from 28-29 April 2009 in Canada's picturesque city of Vancouver, SMALL HYDRO 2009 has been organized to bring together delegates from government, industry and client organizations to discuss the most important issues in the small hydro arena.

Areas to be covered at the event - which is supported by the european-small-hydropower-association (esha), the International Network on Small Hydro Power and Natural Resources Canada - include:

Assessing the resource
New estimates of micro (less than 100kW), mini (100kW-1MW) and small hydro (1MW-50MW)
Identifying new locations
Developing projects at existing structures
Training for engineers
International perspectives

New development mechanisms
Government funding initiatives

Are you interested in sharing your experiences with colleagues and submitting a paper on any of the above? If so, send an abstract of up to 500 words to Carrieann Stocks at the contact details below no later than 28th November 2008. Selected authors will be asked to submit papers of up to 4000 words in length with relevant supporting illustrations by 21 January 2009.

The conference papers should be written and presented in English. The author or co-author of each accepted paper will be expected to attend the conference to present their work. Please note that authors who present their paper are entitled to a free two day pass to the event.
