Citicore gets OK to investigate pumped storage plans

6 July 2017

Philippines energy company Citicore Power Inc has been awarded five pumped storage service contracts by the Department of Energy, paving the way for the company to begin pre-development of projects with a combined capacity of 2300MW.

The contracts awarded by the DOE gives Citicore the OK to proceed with the early stage of the proposed projects, including permitting and various studies.

Citicore is looking to expand its offerings in renewable energy, to complement its existing 100MW capacity solar projects.

The five planned pumped storage projects are to be located in Southern Luzon.
