CMS Energy sells hydro interest

CMS Energy has announced the sale of its 12.5% ownership interest in the Curtis/Palmer hydroelectric generating project in New York state to International Paper Company for approximately US$12M. The sale is part of CMS Energy’s US$1.4B asset sale and balance sheet improvement programme.

The Curtis/Palmer facility is a 58.8MW, two-dam hydroelectric generating project located in Corinth, New York. Its electric output is sold to Niagara Mohawk Power under a long term contract.
