Collaboration to continue as research project comes to an end

31 January 2018

A research project involving accurate simulations in hydromachinery and marine propellers is due to be completed in a few days, but the organizations involved in the project have vowed to continue their collaboration following its completion.

Four years ago Kolektor Turboinstitut and University of Trieste joined in the Marie Curie EU project entitled ACCUSIM. The collaborative work of researchers from both organizations resulted in improvement of performance predictions by use of scale resolving turbulence models, accurate simulations of all types of cavitation in water turbines, pumps and marine propellers as well as in shape optimization for hydro machines. Results have been presented in several scientific publications as well as in public media. New knowledge was shared with students and young engineers during the Summer school.

Despite the project scheduled to be completed in a few days, the organizations said they will continue to cooperate in further research work.
