Dapu installation complete

The Dapu hydro power plant is a multi-purpose development contributing to the regional power supply, as well as providing irrigation and flood protection in the Liuzhou region of the Guangxi province.

VA Tech Hydro, who was awarded the US$33M contract in 2001 by Liuzhou Guiliu Hydropower Co, supplied and installed three Kaplan Bulb turbines with an output of 32.6MW each and a runner diameter of 6m, generators, speed governors, generator voltage switchgear, equipment for excitation and protection for the entire plant’s control and automation system.

Two of the turbines are in commercial operation, with the third scheduled to go into commercial operation in January 2005.
