Extra 1GW of hydro for Quebec

HYDRO-QUÉBEC IS TO INSTALL IN excess of 1000MW of new hydro power generating capacity in the next five years to satisfy increasing demands for energy.
According to Reuters news reports, the Canadian utility is already carrying out construction work as part of its US$2.7B plans to boost installed capacity by 2000MW, around half of which is to come from new hydro.
The projects listed by the report include the 220MW Grand-Mere, the 526MW Toulnustouc and the 480MW Eastmain 1.
