Fergus Mill project commissioned

3 November 2006

The project, owned by Fergus Mill Power Company, is on the site of a former mill in a historic town about 1.5 hours from Toronto. The former plant had been abandoned when the company began the process of re-licensing and rehabilitation.

Mavel provided a double regulated bulb turbine with runner diameter of 1050mm, four runner blades and 16 wicket gates. The turbine drives a horizontal asynchronous generator. Mavel also provided design for the hydraulic system, draft tube and other related equipment.
