GE to supply equipment to Chinese plant

Under a contract of more than US$5.4M ge-hydro will provide three high-head Francis hydro turbine-generators, spare parts and supervisory services for installation. The plant will be located on a branch of the Mingjiang river at Jiaochangxiang, Mao Country, Sichuan Province in southwestern China.

The equipment will be manufactured at GE Hydro Asia's facilities in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. The first turbine-generator will be shipped to the project site before 31 August 2004 and will begin commercial operation before 31 December 2004. The last unit will be shipped to the project site before 30 September 2004 and will begin commercial operation before 30 April 2005.
