Haejeon to work on dam project in Mali

Haejeon Industrial Co Ltd in a joint venture with Samsung C & T Corp has won an $18.3 million contract to help develop a large dam construction project in Mali, West Africa.

In a statement, Haejeon said it will spearhead installation of the dam, which is intended to manage river flow and resolve an ongoing regional drought crisis.

The Korean company has contributed to a number of international infrastructure projects including construction of a 350m wide dam for agricultural and residential use in Africa, floodgate installation work on the Sepian-Senam Noi dam auxiliary dam in southeastern Atap province, and floodgate installation work in Jeonbuk Province.

The company is currently expanding its business operations across Korea, Laos, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
