HCC to build New Ganderbal project

Infrastructure firm Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) is to build the 93MW New Ganderbal hydropower project on Sind River in Central Kashmir, India, after winning an EPC contract from the Jammu & Kashmir State Power Development Corporation Limited (JKSPDCL). 

The 3 x 31MW run-of-river project is to be constructed in 48 months. HCC’s deal includes planning, design, engineering and execution of civil and infrastructure works as well as manufacturing, assembling, inspection, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical equipments.

Over the last nine decades, HCC has constructed over 25% of India’s installed hydroelectric power capacity. In the last fifteen years, the company has completed 13 hydropower projects including two projects in Bhutan and is currently engaged in the construction of nine projects in India and Bhutan
