HCC wins contract on Teesta VI

The contract is worth US$75M, and was awarded by Lanco Infra Tech. The contract period is 44 months.

The civils works involved in the contract include construction of the powerhouse and transformer caverns, surge shafts, pressure shafts and headrace and tailrace tunnels.

Separately, NHPC recently commissioned all three units at the 510MW Teesta V plant built on the river Teesta in East Sikkim District. All three units were in commercial production by the middle of last month.

For the Teesta III project, at the end of last year Andritz VA Tech Hydro won the contract to supply vertical Pelton turbines by 2011. The plant has a nominal installed capacity of 1,200MW.
