Hydromatrix contract for VA Tech

Va Tech Hydro has received its first large contract for a Hydromatrix power plant. This will be implemented at the Jebel Aulia dam owned by Sudanese power supply company, National Electricity Corporation.

Hydromatrix is a new concept of hydraulic energy generation, developed by va-tech-hydro to combine the advantages of a proven technology and its cost saving installation in already existing dam structures.

The first 30.4MW Hydromatrix power plant is due to come on line after 16 months and the contract will be fully executed within 23 months.

The Jebel Aulia dam was built between 1933-37 and is currently used for irrigation purposes.
