IHA 2009 Board Election: results announced

As part of the election process, all IHA members were encouraged to participate in the 2009 Board Elections, by voting for their 18 preferred candidates, from a choice of 21. Following the deadline for the postal vote, the ballot forms were opened, counted and witnessed by the Association’s Auditor, on 9 September 2009.

The election resulted in the following individuals being elected to the IHA Board for the period to October 2011:

• Mr Philippe Cochet - President, Alstom Hydro Power
• Mr Jean-Michel Devernay - Deputy Managing Director, EDF Hydro Engineering Centre
• Mr S. K. Garg - Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC Limited
• Mr Roger Gill - Managing Director & Principal Consultant, Hydro Focus Pty Ltd
• Dr Dominik Godde - Managing Director, E.ON Wasserkraft GmbH
• Mr Jon Ulrik Haaheim - Vice President Power Generation, Statkraft
• Mr Rasim Khaziakhmetov - Member of the Management Board, JSC ‘RusHydro’
• Mr Lin Chuxue - Vice President, China Three Gorges Project Corporation

The first meeting of the new Board will take place in London on 22-23 October 2009, where the Board will set the strategy and priorities for the association for the next two years, while also choosing the new president and vice president.
