Joint venture strengthens company positions

va-tech Transmission & Distribution has joined forces with Schneider Electric to form VA Tech Schneider High Voltage, in a move that will create a comprehensive global alliance to strengthen both parties positions as global players in the power market.

The venture consists of the transmission and distribution business of VA Tech’s T&D branch, with Schneider Electric providing all of its Schneider Electric High Voltage (SEHV) subsidiary's high-voltage business.

VA Tech T&D holds a 60% interest and Schneider Electric 40% in the new company, which now ranks third worldwide in the HV power sector.
