Jordan chooses its consultants

International consultants and their local counterparts have been chosen to bid for the supervision of work on Jordan’s Southern Ghor integrated project, which includes the Mujib, Tannour and Wala dams and the weir diversion at Mujib.

The selected firms are: lahmeyer International of Germany, with ace Engineering, for the Mujib dam; Britain’s Mott MacDonald with local Consulting Engineering Centre (Sajdi & Partners) for the Tannour dam; France’s coyne-et-bellier with INGIMA of Morocco and the local Montgomery Watson Arabtech Jardaneh for the Wala dam; and Harza Engineering of the US with the local Dar al Handasah for the weir diversion.

Designs for the scheme have been completed by a joint venture of Brown & Root of the US and the local Masar Engineering. The project is being part-funded by a US$113M loan from the Kuwait-based Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.
