Kazakh PM calls for Moinak completion

17 December 2004

Akhmetov said that the completion of the plant will solve the problem of supplying regions in southern Kazakhstan with sufficient electricity. Construction of the Moinak plant was launched in 1985, but a lack of funding resulted in the suspension of construction work in 1992.

The entity which will complete the plant will be state controlled. It will comprise the Birlik company and include private and state sector investments.
