Mavel turbine commissioned at Japanese project

The Yamada Bunsuikou hydroelectric project in Japan has been successfully commissioned, turbine supplier Mavel has announced. 

The 90kW project features a Mavel Kaplan S Model KS850K4 with a runner diameter of 850mm and four runner blades. The site has a head of 3.6m and flow of 3.15m3/sec.

Located in Tosayamada-cho, Kami-city, Kochi, the project is owned by Yamadazeki-Isuji Land Improvement District, which developed the facility by using the flow and head supplied to Funaire-Isuji, an agricultural irrigation channel taken from Monobegawa-river Joint Weir. The consulting engineer for the project was Nippon Koei Co., Ltd.
