Omkareshwar project inaugurated

The Omkareshwar project is located on the Narmada river in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

The contract to build this power station was signed between NHDC and the Consortium of Jaiprakash Associates (JAL) and Voith Siemens Hydro in July 2003, and work on the project started in October of the same year.
