Penstocks for Ghazi Barotha

Austrian va-tech Voest says it is playing an active role in the development of hydro power in Pakistan; with a new order for penstocks for the 1500MW Ghazi Barotha plant the company is maintaining its presence in the Pakistani market.

The order for VA Tech penstocks was placed by the Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority. The five units have an outer diameter of 10.6m and a total weight of 9300t, and cost approximately US$12M.
