Privatization opportunity offered for Turkey’s Akköprü hydroelectric power plant

Turkey’s Ministry of Treasury and Finance has unveiled the opportunity to acquire operational rights for the 115MW Akköprü hydroelectric power plant.  The tender announcement was published in the Official Gazette under issue no. 32526 on April 24, 2024.

The privatization process for the Akköprü dam and hydroelectric power plant will be executed through the "Grant of Operating Rights" method, with the immovable properties associated with the power plant also up for privatization through either the "Grant of Operating Rights" or "Transfer of Usage Permit" method.

Utilizing a negotiation-based approach, sealed offers will be solicited from multiple bidders. Interested parties must adhere to mandatory requirements, including signing a Confidentiality Agreement and acquiring the Tender Specifications and Introductory Document to participate in the tender process.

Prospective bidders are required to submit necessary documentation and offers in accordance with stipulated guidelines outlined in the Tender Specifications. All submissions must reach the Administration's address by hand no later than the bid deadline of May 30, 2024.

Akköprü has been operational since 2012. Situated on the Dalaman Stream in the Köycegiz district of the Mugla Province, this facility represents a cornerstone in Turkey's renewable energy infrastructure.
