Rätia Energie awards US$11M Swiss contract

The contract was awarded to VA Tech Hydro for the delivery, installation and commissioning of two horizontal twin Pelton turbines, two synchronous generators, four spherical valves and distribution penstock, replacing the six current machine units.

Once the upgraded facility is commissioned in 2006, it will generate some 175GWh of electricity annually.

The contract was awarded to VA Tech by Rätia Energie AG.
