RusHydro and Rosatom sign new agreement

RusHydro and Rosatom have signed a cooperation agreement that will see the firms plan for joint activities in technologies for renewables and electric energy accumulation systems.

The agreement also covers cooperation in automated process control systems (APCSs), big data storage and processing technologies, composite materials and electric engineering.

The priority for the firms will be the joint development and implementation of imports phase-out technologies, with plans to create a working group to develop a roadmap for achieving this.

 “We are interested in cooperation with ROSATOM as mutual use of the companies’ potential, exchange of experience will facilitate development of the promising activity areas of RusHydro Group, including for developing of energy in Far East Federal District,” Nikolai Shulginov, President and CEO of RusHydro noted.

In turn, Alexei Likhachev stated: “ROSATOM already has a good backlog in release of own high-tech products in nearly all stated areas of the cooperation,” added Director General of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev. “However, joint efforts in R&D and business with RusHydro Group will allow us making a qualitative step in imports phase-out technologies for Russian electric power.”
