SAIL supplies steel to Indian hydro plants

Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) has announced it supplied the majority of the steel for the recently inaugurated Kishanganga and Tuirial hydroelectric projects.

SAIL said it supplied 10,500 tonnes of steel for the 330MW Kishanganga project, amounting to over 50%. SAIL’s supply for this consists majorly of TMT Rebars, Structurals,Plates and sheets.

SAIL had also supplied around 70% of the steel used in the recently inaugurated Tuirial hydroelectric power project in Mizoram.
