25 May 2016

Salini Impregilo has announced that it will build a new 2200MW dam project in Ethiopia for Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP), its third major hydropower project in the country in recent years.

The €2.5 billion project in the Koysha area will include a 170m high roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam, creating a reservoir with a volume of 6000Mm3.

Salini was involved in construction of the 1870MW Gibe III project, which recently went into operation in the country, and is building the 6000MW Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
