Scottish hydro scheme gets £1.25 million from crowd funding

£1.25 million in crowd funding has been secured for the Lochy Hydro project in Argyll, Scotland.

Developed by private firm Nightjar Sustainable Power, the funds will be used towards ongoing operation of the hydro scheme, which was bought into operation in July.

The crowd funding was launched and is managed by by the Downing Crowd platform. The funds were raised by selling bonds to investors, with a minimum investment of £100. The Bonds were expected to see a return of up to 5.5% over 12 months.
