Tractebel wins contract on Dasu hydro project, Pakistan

Tractebel is to provide project monitoring consultancy services for development of the Dasu hydropower project on the Indus River after winning a major contract from the Water & Power Development Authority of Pakistan (WAPDA).

The major project is to built over a six-year construction phase and will have a total capacity of 2160MW, with potential to expand to 4320MW. The first phase of the project is being part funded by a credit from the World Bank.

Under the terms of Tractebel’s contract, it will provide management support to WAPDA during the project implementation and carry out independent supervision of the environment and social management plans.
