US$12.2M Peru modernisation contract announced

Edegel of Peru awarded the contract to Voith Siemens Hydro of Sao Paulo, Brazil, which is to carry out refurbishment work on three of the facility’s four turbines. The power plant currently operates on three horizontal Pelton units totalling 38MW in capacity and a fourth larger unit rated at 35MW.

The Callahuanca plant is located in Huarochiri district some 60km east of Lima.
