VA Tech to extend Austrian plant

The order has been placed by Verbund Austrian Hydro Power AG for VA Tech to supply a six-jet vertical shaft Pelton turbine, including a turbine governor, a sperival valve and a generator, increasing the overall output of the storage plant from 65MW to 200MW.

Under the contract, VA Tech will also be responsible for the installation and commissioning of the new unit. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2007.
