The $400M multi-purpose project will produce both hydro power and water supply, the state commissioner for Works and Infrastructural Development, Sani Ndanusa, told local media recently. According to reports, an Mou on the project’s development was signed between the state government and Transatlantic Investment and Development Co during state Governor Babangida Aliyu’s recent trip to the US.

Work on the project is expected to start in October this year, following completion of detailed studies, engineering designs, an environmental impact assessment and socio-economic surveys.
