The 30MW Nuoc Che Hydropower Project in Phuoc Son District, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, has entered commercial operation following the successful commissioning of its two generating units.

Both 15MW units were commissioned on 23 May 2026 and handed over to the project owner, Nuoc Che Hydropower Joint Stock Company, on 1 June 2026 for commercial generation.

The project’s electro-mechanical package was supplied by FLOVEL, whose scope included the design, manufacture and supply of two Vertical Francis turbines, generators, digital governors, auxiliary transformers, and the complete electrical and mechanical balance of plant (E-BOP and M-BOP) systems. The company also provided supervision services for erection, testing and commissioning.

According to project stakeholders, commissioning was completed despite challenges that included flooding at the site and a gap of more than five years between equipment supply and final commissioning. Both units were brought into operation with operational parameters meeting project requirements.

The commissioning marks FLOVEL’s 49th hydropower project to be completed in Vietnam, where the company has supplied electro-mechanical equipment for a range of small and medium-sized hydropower developments.

Quang Nam Province, located in central Vietnam, continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio, with hydropower remaining an important contributor to regional electricity generation.
