The project, which will cost an estimated $15B, includes the 8.5GW Yuzhno-Yakutsk complex, and the Nizhnye-Zeyskaya and Nizhnye-Bureyskaya stations, with combined installed capacity of 600MW.
A senior official at Russia’s Hydro OGK told Reuters that Austrian utility Verbund, Norway’s Norsk Hydro \ and Statkraft, US-based Alcoa Inc and Russia’s newly merging aluminium giant Rusal-Sual were among the companies interested in the projects.
